Hydrow x HOCR55

What. A. Weekend. The Hydrow team had a blast giving Hydrow demos, providing 1:1 coaching, meeting at-home rowers and catching races all weekend long. The booth was jam-packed from Saturday morning through the final race on Sunday evening, giving us the opportunity to meet and chat with thousands of attendees of all ages about our love for Hydrow and rowing.

Our Hydrow Athletes had an impressive weekend as well: On Saturday, Dani and her Team USA Paralympic teammates took 1st place in the Mixed Inclusion, while Laine and Mac earned 9th place in the Women’s Championship Double. On Sunday, Mike and Nick took 2nd and 7th place, respectively, in the Men’s Club Single, while Christine earned 2nd place in the Directors’ Challenge Mixed Double and Sera came in 4th place in the Women’s Club Single.  The final event of the weekend -- the Directors Challenge Mixed Eight -- featured an all-star lineup of Hydrow Athletes, including Dani, Sera, James, Mike, Aquil, Laine and Mac, with a special appearance by Hydrow’s own driver and boat manager, Fraser, as coxswain.

The Hydrow Eight came in 5th place, but in the Directors’ Challenge, everyone is truly a winner: the individuals and organizations who compete in these events commit to raising money to support various non-profit groups or philanthropic initiatives through the Head of the Charles Charity Program. This year, proceeds earned by the Directors Challenge participants benefited Cambridge Community Foundation, Community Rowing Inc. and West End House -- three truly deserving local organizations.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to see us, joined us for a virtual or in-person training session, or cheered for our teammates and colleagues -- we’re grateful for your support, and can’t wait to do it all over again next year. Have photos from HOCR55? Make sure to post them using #HydrowHOCR! We’re continuing to share our favorites all week long.
