Hydrow has built a community that celebrates differences and supports each other no matter your race, religion, sexual orientation, or gender identity. Part of that effort is embodying Pride not just for one month but every single day. Love knows no boundaries — acceptance and being an ally shouldn’t either.

July, the officially observed month for Pride in the UK, is known for its celebrations of LGBTQ+ culture, bringing recognition and support of the fight for equal rights, and amplifying LGTBQ+ voices and causes. What began as the Stonewall Riots in New York City, fighting against the oppression of gay and trans individuals, the annual Pride Parade has grown in cities throughout the world, honoring the cause. We at Hydrow wanted to as well, only ours will be a special workout on the water.

Hydrow Parade Row Details

Pride parades are a way to celebrate social and self-acceptance, highlight achievements, and draw attention to equality or inequality. These events can also serve as a demonstration for current human rights and a remembrance of past events.

Four Hydrow Athletes — Aisyah, Aquil, Mike, and Dani — will do a hand off on the water as each speaks to a Pride theme (Celebration, Authenticity, Love, and Joy) during their respective leg of this on the water Pride parade. The workout will also feature a special Pride playlist and boats that have been decorated by Hydrow employees and crew. It will be a celebratory row like no other!

There are many beautiful approaches to exercise, health, and fitness. Some embark with the mindset of hard work and determination, some with community and enjoyment, and some with self and authenticity. At Hydrow, we recognize every person has a unique experience and connection to movement. We are here to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and provide an inclusive space for everyone to enjoy their workout experience.

Finding joy in exercise is a meaningful part of your fitness journey, and ensuring you have the freedom to do so in a safe space  is important. Hydrow offers movements for everyone and an inclusive community to support your individual exploration and expression. Research shows that LGBTQ+ people engaging in activity experience increases in self-esteem and well-being. Hydrow Athletes are here to build your confidence, challenge you, motivate you, and most importantly–inspire you to be proud of who you are!
