Every day is a win

We’re kicking off the new year by celebrating each day you move. Whether it’s a 5-minute flow or a 30-minute row, adding small changes to your daily routine is a sustainable way to see positive changes in your health over time. Here to help you build movement into your daily routine are tips from Hydrow’s Director of Exercise Research, Kristin Haraldsdottir

“Making significant changes for your health and wellness doesn’t mean you need to make big changes,” Kristin explains. “Building more movement into your daily life, even small incremental differences, can add up to long-term success.”

Here are some tips to keep you on the right path:

Work out at the same time of day

It’s helpful to pick a time when you’ll be the most motivated. Not a morning person? No need to change that! Pick a time that you know you’ll be likely to stick to.

Short workouts make a difference

Just a 10-minute row can be enough to lift your mood and leave you feeling great all day. Here are some of our favorite workouts for when you’re running short on time or just need to get moving to break up your day: - 10-minute Breathe “Express Cardio Row” with Mac - 5-minute “Movement Break Flow” with Owen - 10-minute Drive “20” Bursts Row” with Nick - 10-minute “Postural Mobility” with Peter and James

Get moving in other ways

It’s important to remember that you don’t need to work out every day, and you can actually get many of the same benefits of one longer workout by keeping your body moving consistently throughout the day. There are choices you can make in your day-to-day life that can also help you stay active  — for example, choosing the stairs or taking a work call while you are on a walk.

Build in a buffer

When possible, schedule meetings or commitments with at least five to ten minutes in between so you can fit in a quick core workout, a short walk, or a rejuvenating stretch!

Pick workouts in advance

The easier it is to work out, the more likely you are to do it. Use your Hydrow app (available on iOS and Android) to explore our on-demand library and find workouts you think you’ll enjoy. Click the star icon to favorite those workouts so they’re easy to find once you’re ready.

Celebrate small wins

While big new goals can be exciting, it’s important to celebrate the small changes we make to build a healthy lifestyle. Every day is a new opportunity to show up for yourself and your health!

Don’t forget to share your daily wins with us this month using #HydrowWintheDay and #FeeltheHydrowHigh on social media and in Training Camp. We’ll see you on the water!
