Hydrow Membership: Features and pricing

All-inclusive Hydrow Membership experience ($44 monthly + tax)

Your all-inclusive Hydrow membership has everything you need to make the most of your Hydrow experience. With your membership, you’ll have complete access to our entire library of both live and on-demand rowing workouts, which are filmed on beautiful waterways around the world.

A Hydrow membership isn’t just for rowing, however—you’ll also have access to an extensive library of On The Mat yoga, Pilates, strength training, and mobility workouts that are the perfect complement to your rowing routine. Other membership perks include special fitness challenges, community meetups, and specially curated workout series such as our Beginner Training Camp

You’ll also be able to track your progress with workout data such as your metrics, milestone achievements, challenges you’ve joined, workout streaks, personal records, and much more. Plus, for every 25 days you row with Hydrow, a donation will be made to Water.org to help provide access to clean water for people in developing countries around the world. 

Of course, the best part is that you’ll join a positive and supportive community of fellow rowers excited to champion your success. There is no milestone or achievement too small—your global Hydrow community will always be there as your most enthusiastic cheerleader.

The Digital Basic Hydrow Membership ($19.99 monthly + tax)

If you’re looking to take the Hydrow membership experience for a test drive, a Digital Basic Hydrow Membership will give you access to our on-demand workout library. You don’t need a Hydrow to take advantage of this subscription option, but keep in mind that it does not include access to live rows or track your progress. 

The Digital Basic Membership is available for both Android and iOS devices.

“Just Row” mode

One question we often get is whether you can use a Hydrow without a Hydrow membership. The short answer is yes, with something we call “Just Row” mode. “Just Row” mode lets you adjust your drag and resistance and displays your live stats on your screen for your current row. 

However, you will not have access to any Hydrow workouts (both live and on-demand), and your workout metrics will not be tracked or stored. Additionally, you will not be able to connect with the Hydrow community on your rower or earn any incentives towards your progress on your fitness journey.

A look into Hydrow’s workout library

A Hydrow membership gives you access to over 5,000 workouts (and counting!), which means you’ll have no shortage of options to choose from when you lace up your sneakers and sit down on your Hydrow. Hydrow’s workout library consists of:

  • On-demand On The Mat workouts

  • Live rowing workouts

On-demand rowing workouts

Your Hydrow membership is a gateway to our unparalleled, immersive workout experience, which lets you experience breathtaking destinations around the globe as you row from the comfort of your home. These workouts are all led by world-class and Olympic Athletes who spend each workout coaching you and keeping you motivated to keep going. 

What does this look like? Start your workout with a short warm-up on the clear-blue waters of the Bahamas. Then, dig into your main workout beneath a towering ice-capped glacier in Alaska, and wrap up with a relaxing cool-down amid the fall foliage of Boston. Then, do it all again the next time you row, with over 170 global destinations to choose from. 

Our on-demand rowing workouts cater to all paces, experience levels, and schedules and range from intensity. Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or a beginner rower, you’ll find a workout that will meet you at your current fitness level and push you harder as you improve. 

Common types of Hydrow rowing workouts include: 

  • Breathe workouts: With sustained intensity at a jog and run pace (20–24 strokes per minute), these foundational cardio workouts are a great option if you’re new to fitness or want to build your aerobic endurance. 

  • Sweat workouts: If you’re craving a real burn, a good sweat, and a chance to challenge your endurance, Hydrow Sweat workouts are for you. These moderate- to high-intensity workouts are at a run or sprint pace, with the bulk of the rhythms between 24 and 28 strokes per minute. Sweat workouts take you through “on” intervals of two to seven minutes, with short rests in between. 

  • Drive workouts: Test your limits with Drive workouts, which are designed to push you to your lowest (aka fastest) splits, highest rhythms, and shortest intervals. These high-intensity interval training (HIIT) sessions feature a more even ratio between work and rest, with rhythm numbers between 26 and 32 strokes per minute. 

  • Journey rowing workouts: Offered as both guided and unguided experiences, these workouts let you row through scenic waterways you can explore at your own pace, with no instruction to row at certain rhythms. 

  • Distance rows: These allow you to test your performance and hit new milestones, with ranges between 250 and 1,000 meters.

  • Rowing instruction: Learn how to row and improve your rowing form and performance with our library of instructional and technique-focused rowing drills.

Many of these additional on-demand classes are filmed in stunning locations around the world, with the same immersive Live Outdoor Reality™ workout experience seen in our rowing workouts. 

Our On The Mat workouts also feature cross-training programs like our three-week Hydrow Runner’s Program and specialized workouts such as our prenatal Pilates classes. 

Weekly live rowing workouts

In addition to our extensive on-demand offerings, you can also participate in live rowing workouts, which are streamed in real time from the water. This will give you the chance to row alongside other Hydrow members and track your progress as you compete with others on the Hydrow leaderboard.

Multiple user profiles for your household

A single Hydrow membership does allow you to create multiple individual profiles for a single monthly cost. So, you only need one membership even if your Hydrow is going to be used by say, you, your spouse, and one teenage child. You’ll each be able to have your own individual profile tailored to your own preferences and housing your own metrics.

And, when you reach larger milestones—like rowing your first 100,000 or even one million meters—you can opt to celebrate with an award of Hydrow swag, for a small shipping fee. 

  • Leaderboard: Our leaderboard allows you to compete with others who have already done your workout, fostering a sense of competition and camaraderie even as you row solo.

Access to on-the-go workouts with the Hydrow app

Even when you’re away from your Hydrow, you’ll have access to thousands of rowing, Yoga, Pilates, strength training, and mobility workouts from the Hydrow app. Our app lets you track your workout achievements and sync your session summaries with other apps, such as Strava and Apple Health. 

Additionally, you can also stream workouts from your mobile app to an Apple TV. 

Donations to Water.org for every 25 days you work out

For every 25 days you work out with Hydrow, we donate to Water.org, helping the organization continue their mission of bringing water and sanitation to the developing world. You’ll be able to see your personal progress toward your next donation on your Hydrow screen or in the app.
